Overview

We are looking for an ambitious and talented Mid-Weight Designer to join the growing team at Advertience and form part of our exciting future. You will be supporting us with existing design projects and be given plenty of opportunities to develop your own ideas and creative processes, working daily alongside the senior designer and the creative director on brand strategy, identity, and digital design solutions. SUMMARY

In this role, the GRAPHIC DESIGNER will support the Creative Services lead across all internal and external client projects including, but not limited to, the development of advertising, website design, branding, motion design, and presentation assets. Core to success in this role will be a strong grasp of design principles and best practices, and experience in designing pitch assets, documentation, advertising-related assets (e.g. Display and Social Creative Ads), video-editing experience, web design as well as knowledge of creating and designing an interactive experience across multiple digital platforms (Desktop, Tablet, SmartPhones).

Responsibilities

  • Brand strategy & identity design
  • Concept development through to final production
  • Design research & presentation development
  • Web/app design for multiple digital platforms, such as desktops, tablets, and phones
  • Typography, layout, and traditional graphic design
  • Support our senior executives and the sales teams by laying out decks using pre-existing pitch designs, designing pitch assets, and improving on these design systems – it’s in our nature to be iterative.
  • Communicate and provide support across all departments concerning design project requests and requirements.
  • Assist in designing various digital and print collateral, such as digital ads, newsletters, web design, branding, UX/UI, and marketing materials.
  • Collaborating with other teams that are responsible for producing material for our clients including developers and data analysts. 
  • Work on multiple assigned projects at once, time management and the ability to switch rapidly between projects are key as you will be accountable for your own time and deadlines.
  • Design, presentation, and leadership skills by working towards leading your projects.
  • Develop Assets Libraries based on existing visuals.
  • Comfort working and receiving feedback in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
  • Solicit and incorporate feedback from colleagues and clients concerning design drafts and end products.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in graphic design.
  • An outstanding portfolio that demonstrates a clear understanding of design and digital production.
  • Very good working knowledge of Adobe CC and Figma.
  • Experience in web design.
  • An intelligent approach to concept generation.
  • Attention to detail, focus, and consistency.
  • Career drive.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English with excellent grammar, spelling, and communication skills.
  • Presentation skills and communication abilities at all levels of both internal and client organizations.
  • Detail-oriented and excellent with composition and typography.
  • Ability to operate independently without supervision.
  • Knowledge of creating and designing an interactive design across multiple digital platforms, such as desktops, tablets, and phones.
  • Understanding of social media advertising and email marketing platforms like Google Display, YouTube, Mailchimp, Twitter, and TikTok. 
  • Understanding of setting up files for print production.
  • Strong working experience in programs like Adobe Photoshop, Figma, Illustrator, After Effects, and Video Editing tools such as Premier.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience/knowledge in web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and popular content management systems e.g., WordPress)
  • Motion design skills in After Effects & Premiere Pro

EDUCATION & PORTFOLIO

  • Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in graphic design, along with an outstanding portfolio that demonstrates a clear understanding of design and digital production.
  • 2+ years of professional graphic design experience in an agency environment and/or a design team.
